Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident right from the day she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition she was ranked among the top two athletes in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas before enrolling in the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic prize at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s which set the new world junior record. In 2005, she was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, defeating her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked in the top three of athletes at her particular events.
